Now Broadcasting From California

After an extended hiatus for driving cross country/apartment hunting/shirking responsibility, the photo blog is back—now from California.

In that spirit, here are some late summer California skies. Some of these photos are unedited. Oh, and credit for the last couple shots goes to my wife.

Peaches

DSC_0218 - Copy When I shot this photo, this tree in my parents’ backyard was covered in dozens, if not hundreds, of peaches. I like the natural framing in this shot.

DSC_0220 - Copy The bunch on the left was slightly riper than the bunch on the right.

Parents’ backyard

Shot the following pictures in my parents’ backyard last summer. Shooting flowers is always fun; it doesn’t take much effort to make them look pretty.

Claremont Colleges at Night

Early last summer, I took an evening stroll through the Claremont Colleges and snapped a few photos of some cool-looking buildings.

Unfortunately, I was still a novice at night photography when I took these photos, so they have more noise than I would tolerate now. Nonetheless, the buildings were quite pretty.

DSC_0124DSC_0131 I had a hard time with this one. I really liked the house, but trees, road signs, and other obstructions made it difficult to find a workable angle. I don’t like the palm tree there in the foreground, but oh well.
